Club Championships

Conditions of Play for Championships

1. Rounds 1 & 2 of the Men’s and Ladies Singles Championships will be played on Sunday 22 October unless games in these rounds have been completed prior to the 22 October.
2. Any player who hasn’t played their Round 1 or 2 games prior to the 22 October and are unavailable on that date will forfeit the game
3. All losing players in R1 on 22 October are expected to act as markers for R2
4. All Finals are to be played on the nominated date
5. Men’s and Ladies Singles, 17 December  at 11.00 AM
6. Men’s and ladies Pairs, 2 February at 6.30 PM
7. Mixed Pairs, B Grade Singles and 100 Up, 25 March at 1.30 PM
8. All other games are to be completed by the nominated date. Where this cannot be achieved an extension of 1 week may be granted by the Championship Co-ordinator. Reasons for consideration of a possible extension may include;
9. Playing in Regional, State or National teams
10. Playing in Regional, State or National tournaments
11. Work
12. Unavoidable Family commitments
13. Health issues

No extension will be granted for playing in another clubs’ tournament

Where no extension is arranged, the player who has not been able to play the game before the due date will forfeit the game

1. All games are “Knockout” with the winner progressing to the next round and the loser dropping out
2. Men’s and Ladies Singles and B Grade winners are the first to achieve 25 shots.
3. All Pairs events are best of 18 ends
4. 100 Up is a handicapped event. The winner is the player who expunges their handicap and then reaches 100 points first. Handicaps are calculated according to the side and position the player plays in and are outlined in “Handicaps by Position”.

10 points are available each end and are awarded as follows:

1. Shot bowl 4 points
2. Second Shot (regardless of who’s) 3 points
3. Third shot (regardless of who’s) 2 points
4. Fourth shot (regardless of who’s) 1 point
5. Club 4’s – individual entries will be ranked into groups A, B, C and D based on where they have played in the 2016-17 season, or if a new member where they are currently playing. Teams will consist of 4 players, with one (1) player being drawn at random from each group. No team will have more than one (1) player from Group A. Round one will be sectional play of 5 ends. The winner of Round 1 will be the team winning the most games or having the highest net number of shots up. Round 2 and Semi Final, if required, will be “knockout” and of 5 ends. The Final will be of 5 ends.
6. Payment must accompany the entry form so as to constitute a valid entry

10.Completed entry forms with the players name and event on the envelope are to be placed in the entry box provided

11.Except for the Men’s and Ladies Singles being played on 22 October and the Finals of the same events, players in all other singles events need to arrange their own Markers.

12.Greens for games in all events need to be booked by placing the players’ names; the title of the event being played and the date and time required on the White Board on the wall of the Green Keeper’s shed. The Green Keeper will then allocate a rink and direction of play

13.No games are to be organised between 4.00 and 6.00 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays

14.Any queries or ruling in relations to the Conditions of Play are to be referred to the Championship Co-ordinator

15.In all other matters the “Rules of Bowls” apply
